SAVE IT RIGHT!
1. Open Microsoft Office Word 2007
2. Click the gold office circle on top left
3. Click Word options (in red box)
4. To the left click on SAVE (green box)
5. Click down arrow (brown box)
6. Select "Word 97-2003 Document (*.doc)"
7. On bottom click OK Now your word files will be able to be seen by Openoffice and older versions of Microsoft Office
NOTE: For EXCEL 2007 or POWERPOINT 2007 just open each program repeat steps and just substitute WORD with the program you opened!
