My name is Ana Luisa Aldape Fields, in my name I carry my family with me. I have my mother's name Ana and my father's name Luis and my last name in Spanish is Aldape (it is a Basque surname) and my husband's last name is Fields. I have been teaching since 1999. I went to school in Mexico and took my senior year in Berlin, Ohio at Highland High School. When I went to this school I was the only Hispanic in the school. I had a great experience and to this day the memory is sweet to my mind. I speak Spanish and English fluently. I also do sign language, and really I am trilingual. I am currently doing my master's in bilingual studies and hope to graduate next spring. I have three sons: David, Michael and Daniel. David is a computer programmer and lives here in El Paso. Michael lives in Dallas and has a degree in Finance and currently works with teachers and their retirements. Daniel, my youngest, lives in Austin he has a degree in architecture and works for a firm in Austin, Texas. My husband also works for YSLETA and is a university teacher at UOP. He is currently working on his doctorate. As you can see I encourage education and I find it to be a very important part of everyone's lives. Nothing makes me happier than to see my students walking the graduation isle. So graduate and come back with a degree so we can talk about old times.
