I graduated from UTEP in 2004 with a degree in English/Creative Writing. I started in 48 football games for the Miners from 1998-2002, was named to the All-Conference team twice, and help lead the Miners to their only conference championship in 2000. I played professionally for the expansion Arena Football Team, the Laredo Law.

When reading a good book your mind can travel to distant lands, envision epic battles, or witness a plot to overtake an emperor. Your mind alone is responsible for how vivid those images are and that's the beauty in reading; no one can tell you what to hear or see, how to think, or what opinions to have much like a television set does. I am eager to share this concept and excitement with my students.
