RHS Poem of the Month

In the Dark I Sit Alone

In the dark I sit alone

Feeling worthless as a broken bone

No one knows I am hear

For its far too hard to see or even hear

I hear the door moving caused by the air

The cars passing by and the sign in my front yard that says beware

I can not see a bit, yet I stand from where I sit

I walk not knowing where I’m going

Looking for the light I reach anywhere for a wall

But all I end up finding is a fall

Now I hear the wind move my fence

My hearing feeling so condense

Someone trips on me

And I ask for help

That someone ignores me

And says to move because they almost fell

Saw somebody walk my way

I scream help me up! Can you hear?!

But that somebody just decides to convey

From one to the other ear

I look around and see darkness

I start to weep of pure sadness

For I just remembered what I once had known

In the dark I sit alone…
