Welcome to 6-4 (Room 303)! This is where the world of writing and word play is explored. My goal this year is to help your child become a better writer, while gaining an understanding of the positive impact that comes with being a good writer. Writing skills are necessary for everyday life and are a powerful tool for self expression.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please feel free to contact me at 434-4744 or through the district e-mail. There is a quick link to the e-mail if you click on "Contact Me". |
![]() Our grade level is a positive, collaborative environment. We all work together as a team of support with our students' success as our top priority. We feel that by working in this manner we will not only be positive role models for our students, but we will also be able to better serve them and educate them as best as we can. |
A Little Tid Bit About Me... Just in case you were wondering more about WHO I am... I am the only teacher in my grade level under the age of 30 (ha ha to them) and I have been here at Edgemere since I was hired, 7 years ago this December (2009). I have a lot of energy, as I am sure anyone here at Edgemere could tell you. I obtained my degree from UTEP and did extra studies in the Language Arts area to better prepare myself to teach my students. I have a STRONG philosophy and belief that ALL students can achieve goals set for them and I am committed to helping them achieve those goals. I believe that students need to know what they are capapble of and I will push and challenge them until they do so.
Besides my "pushy, take NO for an answer" attitude with my students, I also have a fun side. I love to have fun with the kids and joke around too. In addition to teaching here, I also coordinate the basketball program for the campus and coach two teams. I have coached here for the last six years and had successful teams every year, making it to championship games 5 of the 6 years. I believe 100% that for many kids, sports is a window to not only academic success, but to success in life with social skills, discipline, and strong, positive character building.
