Hello and welcome to my home page.  My name is Melissa Alvarez and this is my fourth year teaching and third year as the Multinational Business Academy Coordinator.  Prior to teaching, I worked four years in the manufacturing industry as a Human Resources Professional. During my first three months of teaching I realized that influencing the lives of my students and preparing them for their future is a much more rewarding profession.  

I am a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor in Business Administration and a concentration in Human Resources.  I am currently enrolled in graduate level courses at UTEP to obtain my MBA.  I am the proud mother of two wonderful children.  My goal as an educator is to help my students succeed not only in the classroom but as professionals in our community as well. 

Students enrolled in my class will learn the basic applications of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Outlook.  Technology has become a necessity in today's work force and the importance of learning these applications is stressed on a daily basis.  I have confidence in my students that they will leave my class at the end of the year with a solid background in Microsoft Office.
