Parking Policies

Playground Supervision:  The playground is supervised before school from 7:30 – 7:45 am.  Students are not allowed to be on the playground after school.  Therefore, students must be picked up by or walk home at 2:45 pm if they are not attending after school tutoring or other school/sport activities.

S

Student Drop-Off Zone:  The drop-off zone in front of the school is not a parking area.  As a courtesy to other parents, the one-way single lane traffic going through the drop-off zone should be stopped for only two (2) minutes in order for the students to exit or enter the vehicle.  If your child is not waiting at the curb when you arrive, please park on the street or drive around and come back to the drop-off area.  Students must remain on the sidewalk until their parents’ car drives up.  Dashing between cars is very dangerous.

Student Supervision After School:  Students are dismissed at 2:45 pm if they are not attending after school tutoring or other school/sports activities.  If a student is not picked up by 3:15 pm, he/she will be directed to the office in order to call home.  The person picking up the student must come into the office to sign out the child.  The school can call the appropriate authorities if a child has not been picked up within a reasonable amount of time.

Student Uniform/School Dress Guidelines:  In order to maintain an orderly environment that allows for students to learn without distraction or interruption, students shall conform to the HHES Uniform/Dress Guidelines.

The official school uniform shall consist of

1.   Royal blue, navy blue or goldenrod (deep yellow) colored polo shirts with school emblem available from vendors approved by the Ysleta ISD.

2.   Uniform pants shall be properly fitting “Dockers” style pants (navy blue or khaki colors).  The pants shall not be “baggy” or tight fitting and may not be made of knit or nylon fabrics. No jeans allowed.

3.   The uniform may include skirts, skorts, shorts, or jumpers in navy blue or khaki colors.  The pant legs of these articles of clothing shall be below the fingertips while arms are fully extended at the side.

4.   Navy blue colored buttoned or zippered sweaters may be worn (no pullovers).  Only Hacienda Heights emblem or plain (no emblem) zippered sweat jackets may be worn inside the building.

5.   Shirts must be tucked in at the waist and students in grades 4 – 6 shall wear a belt.

6.   All students shall wear a neat, clean-cut hairstyle that does not cause a distraction during the instructional day (e.g. “bangs” covering the eyes, Mohawk style haircuts, male students wearing hair that is longer than their shirt collar not for religious/cultural reasons, etc.)

7.   No student shall dye his/her hair in unnatural colors (red, blue, green etc.).

8.   Students shall not wear make-up

9.   Small stud earrings may be worn by female students only.  The earrings must not be hoop style earrings as they may present a safety hazard while playing.
