Comic Life - Includes powerful Page and Panel layouts, (including styles for
a real comic-strip look), streamlined image selection, cropping and
placement, authentic speech balloons (enhanced by a built-in
professional quality comic lettering font), captions and special
effects text.
Placing An Application Icon On Your Dock
- Click on the Finder Icon in your dock.

- The Finder window will open.

- Highlight "Applications" in the left hand window. Then, Highlight "Comic Life" in the right hand window.
- Drag the "Comic Life" icon to the dock and drop it.
- The "Comic Life" icon is now available on your dock.
Opening Comic Life
- Click twice on the Comic Life icon on your dock.

- Comic Life will open in a new window.
Working With Pages
- Watch the Atomic Learning Movie: Using a page template.
- Choose a Page Template from the left hand of the screen. If you use the drop-down field, you will be able to see that there is a large number of templates from which to choose.
- Drag the template you've chosen to the white area in the center and drop it.
- Once you've selected the template, the Album section will expand.
- Drag your photos from the Album window to the various template sections.
- Once dropped, you can move the photo within that template section for proper placement.
- To remove a photo from a template section, double-click it so that you see green handles on the picture, then click the delete button on your keyboard.
Adding Text Bubbles To Pages
- Watch the Atomic Learning Movie: Adding A Speech Bubble.
- Choose a text bubble from the bottom pane.
- Drag the text bubble to the cartoon panel and drop it.
- Hit "Delete" on your keyboard to erase the text in the bubble or begin typing your text for the bubble.
- Click outside the text bubble or hit "return."
- Repeat these steps for your entire template pages.
- To move the Text Bubble "tail," click on the text bubble once and drag the blue dot at the end of the tail to a new location.
- To move the text bubble, click on it until you see the green handles around it. Then, drag the text bubble to a new location.
Adding Lettering To Pages
- Watch the Atomic Learning Movie: Adding Some Lettering.
- Click on the "Lettering icon from the bottom pane near the speech bubbles.
- Click and drag the icon to the panel where you would like the lettering.
- Drop the icon. A box wil open with the word "lettering" highlighted in it.
- Hit "Delete" on your keyboard to erase the text in the box or begin typing your text for the bubble.
- Click outside the text bubble or hit "return."
Resizing Your Lettering
- Watch the Atomic Learning Movie: Resizing Your Lettering.
- Resize the lettering as needed by dragging the green handles of the lettering.
- Manipulate and stretch lettering as needed by dragging the blue handles on the lettering.
Saving Your Page(s)
- Watch the Atomic Learning Movie: Saving Your Comic Page.
- Click on "File">"Save As."
- Choose the location where you want to save the file.
- In the "Save As" box, type the title of the page(s).
- Click "Save."
Printing Your Page(s) To Printer Or PDF
- Watch the Atomic Learning Movie: Printing Your Comic to Printer or PDF.
- Click on "File."
- Click "Print." A new window will open.
- For printing a copy, be sure the proper printer is selected, the click "Print."
- For a .pdf copy, click on "PDF," then "Save as PDF." Name your page(s), choose the location for saving, then click "Save."
Exporting Your Page(s) As A JPG, GIF, TIFF, Or PNG
- Click on "File>Export."
- Choose "Export To Image(s)..."
- Under "Format," choose JPG, GIF, TIFF, or PNG. (Note: For printing, we recommend you choose "TIFF"and change the resolution to 150.
- In the "Save As" box, type the title of the page(s).
- Choose the location where you want to save the file.
- Click "Export."
