  Useful Tips for the MacBook

 

1. Setting your MS Office documents to save as .doc - Click the link below to find directions for setting your Office 2007 files to save in a format that is useable by all users.

2. Right Click - To right click on the PC side of your MacBook place two fingers on the track pad and click the mouse.

3.  Choosing an OS (Mac or PC) - When turning on your computer hold the Option key until images of both Mac and Windows  hard drives are visible. Click on the Mac or Windows Operating System you wish use.

4. Control, Alt., Delete - If you need to close a program press the left apple, option, ctrl. and fn then press the delete key.  This will allow you to close programs that may have frozen.

5. Choosing the default Operating System for the machine to boot to automatically - If you prefer your machine to boot to Windows instead of Mac or vice versa, start your machine and boot to the Mac operating system. Once the desktop is visible, point to the blue apple in the upper left corner, click and pull down to System Preferences. Find the icon called Startup Disk, click it and you'll see the images of the Mc and Windows hard drive. Choose the system you wish your machine to boot to each time you turn it on. Close the window and re-start your machine.
