Continue to upgrade YISD facilities so that all campuses are safe and conducive to learning.

1.1 To review and evaluate all YISD facilities and develop an updated list of school building improvements by February 1, 2011.
1.2 To complete a feasibility study regarding the migration of 6th graders to middle school, including the possibility of moving some Pre-K students into their home school, by March 1, 2011.
1.3 To develop an energy management plan that includes costs, savings and additional equipment needed, by November 1, 2010.
1.4 To develop the first YISD Wellness Center by December 1, 2010.
1.5 To implement, by May 2011, the ADA plan submitted to Texas Education Agency in September 2009.

Redefine the responsibilities of the Guidance and Counseling TEAM so that all students are prepared to pursue their post-secondary goals.

2.1 To redefine all Guidance and Counseling job descriptions by November 1, 2010.
2.2 To implement a systematic plan to monitor and ensure college and career readiness for all students by April 1, 2011. (Electronic folder; PowerParent - career emphasis)
2.3 To increase the number of seniors receiving scholarships by 5% annually until we reach all seniors.
2.4 To measure and report monthly the total number of student visitations by campus, by counselor.
2.5 To implement a collaborative plan to ensure early detection and follow through of students with special needs by November 1, 2010 (Dyslexia, Special Education, 504, GT and ELL)
2.6 To increase communications and partnerships between counselors and parents so that 100% of parents are informed of their child’s progress.

3.1 To develop a comprehensive program that will address the drug problem by October 1, 2010.
3.2 To implement an anti-bullying program in all middle schools by November 1, 2010.
3.3 To increase the number of security cameras at all campuses yearly.
3.4 To increase the number of employees trained in first aid and CPR yearly.
3.5 To review the role and training of crossing guards by October 1, 2010.
3.6 To review fire safety and electric overloads on all campuses by December 1, 2010.
