Board of Trustees - Core Beliefs 2008-09
  1. The needs of children must be placed above the wants of adults.

  2. Each child who graduates Ysleta ISD should be fully certified to pursue his/her next career choice whether it be college, technical school, the military, or the work force.

  3. All programs should be proven effective, challenging and research based.

  4. Every child and staff member deserves a safe and secure educational environment focused on learning, that is free from disruption, bullying and intimidation.

  5. Children deserve to have all employees model appropriate behavior that the student is expected to follow.

  6. All students and employees deserve a positive, nurturing environment.

  7. Every child is entitled to a teacher that is the best we can hire for that position, so all District positions should be filled solely on merit.

  8. Successful schools are the responsibility of the entire community.

  9. The District's system of internal administrative and accounting controls should be maintained with transparency for all.

  10. The District will provide and promote student opportunities and extra-curricular activities that will enhance academic achievement and social development.

  11. Children who are healthy and well-nourished learn better.

  12. All publics who interact with Ysleta ISD should be treated with a positive attitude, made welcome, provided the information they need and be treated with respect.

  13. Every employee is a valuable team member and plays a vital role in our success.
