 Basic GradeSpeed Training for Teachers

I.  Login

a.  Three ways to access GradeSpeed
i.  https://gradebook.yisd.net
ii.  Inside the district just type in gradebook
iii.  http://www.yisd.net > scroll to Employee Resources > GradeSpeed Login
b.  Use your YISD id as user name and password

II.  Teacher Preferences

a.  Input teacher email address
b.  Set passing score to 70
c.  Remember Apply, Update and Add mean SAVE (Do this often!!)

III.  Attendance

a.  Only during:
i.  Elementary - before 9:30 a.m. or second period
ii.  Secondary - Every period: 20 minutes after the tardy bell
b.  Website http://www2.yisd.net/it/attendance
c.  Attendance Reports

IV.  Categories (Set by District/Cannot Change)

a.  Set category colors
b.  Set number of scores to be dropped in each category (if any)
c.  Fill in special options
i.  Hide Spanish Category (set yes or no)
ii.  Student Advantage (set yes so system will drop score that hurts final average most)
iii.  LEAVE POINTS LOGIC SET AT NO or you will encounter problems with scores…trust me on this one!

V.  Assignments

a.  Provide name
b.  Set assigned date and due date
c.  Set points possible
i.  100 if straight percentage
ii.  Number of possible answers correct (use this like an Easy Grader)
iii.  Extra credit points (ex. 5 or 10)
d.  Set Type
i.  Normal
ii.  Extra Credit (better to set on individual assignments)
iii.  Do not select Semester Exam (will not average into grade)
e.  Categories are set (Elementary, Middle, High School, Spec Ed, Dual Credit, Health Professional, Health Professional EMT 1, Health Science Tech, Spring DC English, Fall DC English)
i.  Daily Grade
ii.  Quizzes, Projects
iii.  9 weeks exam (secondary campuses only)

VI.  Individual Student Grades

a.  Retakes
b.  Notes
c.  Modifications (Special Ed, 504, & GT)

VII. Progress Reports/Reports (Print your own reports for student progress.)

a.   Click on Progress Report tab.
i.  Set your Options. (Assignment Detail, Show Math, Print Signature and Never print 2 students on the same page.)
ii.  Adding a note is optional. (Appears on all Progress Reports you print.)
iii.   Click on Update.
iv.   Select which student you wish to print reports by putting a checkmark next to the student's name.
v.   Click on Generate.

i.  Grade List
ii. Assignments
iii. Missing Assignments
iv.  Class Roster
v. Grade List (Paper Saver)
vi.  Attendance Roster

VIII.  Verify Gradebook

a.  Only during:
i.  Progress Reports (Under Verify) * Every 3 Weeks!
ii.  Final 9 weeks grade
b.  Check final grade
c.  Fill in as many as 5 comments per student
d.  Fill in
i.  Citz (Conduct) for secondary schools
ii.  Work Habits and Social Skills for elementary schools (attached to Reading)
iii.  Check all classes
iv.  Click Verify All Classes (NOTE: THIS WILL LOCK YOUR GRADEBOOK UNTIL CLEARED BY YOUR SASI CLERK)
