A national-award-winning journalist, Carol Viescas has advised the Argus Newspaper at Bel Air since 1994. This is her first year advising the Highlander yearbook. Prior to becoming a teacher, she was a working journalist for nearly 18 years. While a reporter at The El Paso Times, she won the national Penny-Missouri Award for outstanding feature series and second place in feature series for the national Gannett Awards, along with numerous state and local prizes for her feature and editorial writing. She also is a playwright and has written more than a dozen children's plays which have been produced locally at KIDS-N-CO. and in New York state. |
